10,000 Hours

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

I’ve been working my way through the book, Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell. The author notes that individuals who stand out in their fields, the rock stars (literally or figuratively), are those who have put in 10,000 hours of practice or more. Gladwell approximates 10 years, generally speaking. This is a helpful rule of thumb, it [...]

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Its Just A Prayer

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

As much as I understand some of the nuances of why certain people may be frustrated with Don Miller praying at the DNC, at the end of the day, who cares? A man got up and asked God that things would be well in our nation–and in the name of Jesus. To hyper-analyze every line [...]

Conscience

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

“A conscience which is not fully enlightened both to the seriousness of its condition before God, and to the grandeur of God’s merciful provision of redemption, will inevitably fall prey to anxiety, pride, sensuality and all other expressions of that unconscious despair which Kierkegaard called “the sickness unto death.” Richard Lovelace
Every problem with sanctification is [...]
